STEPS hosts a number of events for its students, their family and the surrounding community.
The Annual Reading Festival and the Sports Day are only examples of the public activities organized by the School.
Variety of other cultural and learning activities are provided to the public during our events. The objectives of these activities are:
• Gathering the youth as well as adults of the surrounding area in useful activities to help themselves -and others- and increase their potentials through additional learning
• Serving the community through the provision of useful activities, as the school facilities can be used for numerous activities, after hours.
• Creating a higher awareness about STEPS and its standards in the surrounding area
Children deserve the best possible start in life. Giving children the best possible sports activities, health development and learning foundation will benefit individuals and families as well as our community and economy, by practicing athletic activities such as swimming, gymnastics, football, volley ball, table tennis, Karate and more.
o STEPS intends to develop its students musical and artistic skills. Main areas of attention are:
o understanding the elements of Art such as line, colour, texture, shape and mass or space.
o Awareness of the core principles of music such as balance, contrast, rhythm, unity, proportion and value.
o Aesthetic appreciation and critical judgment of art and music.
o the power to create, visualize, reorganize and improvise.
o the desire for self-expression through involvement in art and music.
STEPS has a wide range of home economics program includes cooking, baking, gardening, fashion design, handcraft and more.
These activities provides students with an opportunity to physically practice non-academic areas of life and prepares them for being more self-reliant and proactive individuals in the society.
Benefits of this program include but are not limited to:
o Becoming responsible citizens and informed consumers willing to contribute to the well-being of themselves, their families and the society.
o Demonstrating good use of management and organizational skills in handling physical and socio-economic resources for self, family, community and society.
o Gaining contextual understanding of food science and technology strand or fashion, textiles and clothing strand.
o Implementing strategies to solve complicated problems in technological contexts, in particular, food / fashion, using a range of appropriate techniques and procedures.
o Evaluating critically the impact of social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological developments on the well-being of individuals, families and society as a whole.
